Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC)
Maryland is a Governing State in the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC), a consortium of 24 states working together to develop an assessment system aligned to the Common Core State Standards. The new assessments will be anchored in college and career readiness; provide comparability across states; and be able to assess and measure higher-order skills such as critical thinking, communications, and problem solving.

The purpose of AutismConnect is to provide stakeholders in the state of Maryland with an online resource that will assist them in locating and securing resources for individuals with Autism. The Maryland State Department of Education Partnership with the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture
The Maryland State Department of Education has formed a partnership with the Reginald F. Lewis Museum to write a K – 12 state-wide curriculum. The objective of this unique partnership is to create a climate of understanding and appreciation supportive of Maryland African American history, culture and art. Through both museum-based and school-based interactive programs and in/outreach activities, the partnership curriculum will reach every Maryland student, in every classroom, in every school.

Professional Development Opportunities for Principals
The Division for Leadership Development at the Maryland State Department of Education provides learning experiences in instructional leadership skills for principals, assistant principals, and aspiring school leaders. Educators who are identified by leaders in their system to have the potential to lead schools but may not, as yet, aspire to be a principal are also included in these programs.

The Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) has launched The Teacher Center a web site to assist career changers and current teachers as they prepare to become teachers or as they seek college coursework for continuing professional development. Components for the system allow users to 1) locate and plan information that is state-specific and relevant to their particular needs, 2) explore course and program options that are available online, and 3) apply for admission to a college of university, begin the registration process for a course, and sign up for an examination or other online services.

Joy2Learn is a non-profit organization devoted to arts education. The foundation has developed a number of interactive e-presentations based on curricular standards for the arts, and they are making them available without cost to teachers across the nation.
