NEW!  Notice of Public Hearing: Child Care and Development Fund Plan (CCDF)
Maryland's Division of Early Childhood Development has scheduled a public hearing on Friday, January 15, 2016 on the proposed plan for the Child Care and Development Fund. The public hearing is an opportunity for interested parties to publicly provide comment on what the Division should include in the plan response, including current and future goals. The CCDF plan focuses on providing quality child care services and subsidies for low income families. Additional information is provided here.

NEW!  Maryland Child Care Mapping Tool. This is an online GIS application developed primarily to help parents in need of child care services locate those services in relation to their homes or to local public schools. The user can set a search radius, select the type and schedule of care desired, and filter the results according to providers' quality rating levels. Search results display as "pins" on a map and can be printed out as text with or without the display map.

Online Child Care Licensing Inspection Findings - MSDE has an online child care licensing inspection results site – www.CheckCCMD.org!  The site offers detailed compliance findings from child care licensing inspections conducted since January 2011, as well as links to a wide range of information about early care and education in Maryland.

The Child Care Subsidy program has implemented a waiting list for some low income families.  Applications are still being accepted for services at the local department of social services, but due to a lack of available funding, not all eligible families will receive vouchers.  Please click here for details about the waiting list.

Healthy Beginnings:  Supporting Development and Learning from Birth through Three Years of Age is now available online at www.marylandhealthybeginnings.org.  Healthy Beginnings is a set of developmental and learning guidelines that was developed to ensure that those who live with or care for infants and young children have the knowledge and resources to support and encourage children during the ongoing process of growth and learning.
