Step 1.2. Identify the best approach to addressing student learning needs.
Once you have identified the gaps in student learning that need to be addressed, you will identify how they will be addressed. This could include introducing new curricula, new instructional strategies, or new assessments. In some cases, your district or school improvement team may have already decided on the changes that need to be made. In other cases, your planning group will be charged with this responsibility. Alternatively, you may decide that existing programs and practices are appropriate to address student learning needs and that what is required is more time to ensure full implementation and use. You may also decide that teachers need help increasing their understanding of the practices as well as their skills in applying them with their students.
Briefly describe the programs, and/or practices that will be implemented to address the student learning needs that you have identified.
