Laws That Impact School Health Services in Maryland

INTRODUCTION

School Health Services are mandated in Maryland public schools. State and federal laws dictate many of the services that school health services programs provide in schools.  This page lists the laws and regulations that affect school health services programs.  In addition to the laws and regulations listed are on this page, Maryland Department of Education (MSDE) and Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene have developed state guidelines that provide additional direction for local school health services programs.  These Maryland State School Health Services Guidelines can be found by clicking here.

This page is most useful if utilized as a starting point in your research.  The most current language of the regulations listed in this compilation can be verified in the primary documents.  You may also wish to confer with your school system attorney.
