BALTIMORE (July 11, 2008)--The following is a calendar for Maryland Schools Superintendent Dr. Nancy S. Grasmick beginning the week of July 14, 2008.
Tuesday, July 15
Maryland State Board of Education Meeting, all day
Dr. Grasmick et al education leaders will hold the monthly meeting to discuss various Education issues and share good news items which include, Maryland Technology Awards, Briefing on the 2008 Maryland School Assessment Results, Report of the Summit on School Safety Solutions, and Annual Election of Board Officers.

Thursday, July 17
Capital for a Day & Governor’s Cabinet meeting, 9:00 a.m.
Dr. Grasmick, Governor O’Malley and members of his Executive Cabinet, and Leonardtown Mayor J. Harry “Chip” Norris, III will declare Leonardtown in St. Mary’s County ‘Capital for a Day’. Throughout the day, they will meet with local community members, religious leaders, and environmental leaders during this Capital for a Day Declaration across the State of Maryland.
