Public Charter Schools Rank High on Best High School Lists

According to the News & Observer, two North Carolina public charter schools were ranked among the top 100 high schools in the nation in Newsweek's America's Best High Schools 2012 list. Raleigh Charter High School was ranked 34th; Woods Charter was ranked 73rd. KSEE 24 News reported Fresno, California's University High School (UHS) was ranked the 10th best charter and 46th best school in the nation, as well as California's 10th best school, by Newsweek. U.S. News and World Report named UHS the seventh best high school in California and the 80th best nationally. The Washington Post ranked UHS the 10th best high school in California and 85th best in the nation. According to Coeur d'Alene Press, Newsweek magazine ranked Idaho's Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy 67th nationally and the 13th best high school in the West. The Washington Post ranked the school 110th in the nation; U.S. News and World Reports ranked it 115th.
