How does my school or organization request Operation Reboot computer equipment?
Request(s) for computers or computer related equipment should be made through a grant application. Click on application, download the file, fill out the application and mail it to the address at the bottom of the application.
Are standards involved?
Computer standards are Pentium III or above.
All components have been thoroughly tested and are ready to use.
Computers are complete systems including central processing unit (CPU) color.
How can my company benefit by donating computers?
Your company or corporation will assist students in need and will receive tax credits. For tax information refer to our Partner organization, The National Cristina Foundation at http://www.cristina.org/faq.html. Other benefits include reducing your cost of warehousing, transfer and storage. Your company or corporation will also benefit by being environmentally friendly by recycling vs. landfill disposal.
What is - The Phoenix Project
The Phoenix Project is a Maryland State Department of Education program that oversees the receiving and distribution of donated computer equipment and associated peripherals to schools and other organizations serving the educational needs of students in Maryland.
How does the Phoenix Project receive computer equipment?
Computer equipment and peripherals are received through generous donations from many sources including corporations, government agencies and individuals. Donations of computer equipment are collected at our refurbishment site where volunteers fix non-working units, refurbish others, and place donated software on the equipment for reuse.

How does your donation make a difference?
Donating computers to the Phoenix Project enhances the quality of education by increasing the ratio of computers to children in the classroom and by providing computers to schools and children in need.
Who will receive refurbished computer equipment?
Refurbished computer equipment are sent to schools K - 12 and community-based organizations, delivering educational programs. There is generally no charge to those receiving equipment through our program. The Maryland State Department of Education pays for computer refurbishment, but a small fee of $20.00 per computer is assessed the organization receiving the computer(s).
What technology donations are accepted?
We accept new or used computer equipment rated Pentium III or higher.

What software comes on the computers?
A Software Suite of Utilities may be installed on your computer. NewDeal School Suite, Release 3 provides a multitasking, windows type environment with word processor, spreadsheet, database & Internet browser. The receiver can request specific software, but must handle appropriate site licences. Public domain software including operating systems can be installed free of charge.
