Diana, a 25-year teaching veteran, began her teaching career in Pennsylvania where she was recognized as an Outstanding Young Educator in State College. She was a Coordinator of Mathematics and Science and led the development and implementation of a K-8 process approach, hands-on science program, and a K-8 math program. The science program was recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as a State Exemplar. Diana was a finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching by the National Science Foundation.
