Lorraine devoted over 16 years to working with 'special needs' children. In 1990, she wrote and implemented the prevention curriculum for 'at risk' middle school students in Queen Anne's County. From 1990 to 1994, she worked as an intensive crisis case-manager to prevent institutionalized placement of children referred by the Local Coordinating Councils.With ATLAS in Dorchester County, she coordinated and set up assistive technology centers in 8 counties on the Eastern Shore.
