Investing in Instructional Technology: Accelerating Educational Reform in Maryland
This report on the future of instructional technology in Maryland was written at the request of former State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nancy S. Grasmick, when she met with the Maryland Instructional Technology Advisory Council, appointed to provide oversight and direction to the Maryland Educational Technology Plan for the New Millennium (2007-2012) and to determine how best to move forward with the integration of technology into teaching and learning. The report includes recommendations about how Maryland should move forward with technology during its current Third Wave of Reform, as well as exemplars of efforts that include educational technology from around the State.

The State of Online Learning in Maryland 2010-11
Researched and written by the Evergreen Education Group and including contributions from Maryland superintendents and e-learning program leaders in 17 of Maryland's local school systems, The State of Online Learning in Maryland 2010-11 makes the recommendations for expansion of MSDE's Virtual Learning Opportunities Program with broader financial support. Maryland "has the ability to transform schools through online learning, not on a sporadic basis, but as a consistent component of what represents change in education," states the preface written by Nancy S. Grasmick, citing the online learning successes and opportunities that have become increasingly common in other states.
