The Maryland Information Technology Master Plan (ITMP) is developed to ensure that all Maryland State agencies follow a consistent and coordinated approach to achieving the statewide IT goals and objectives. The statewide ITMP provides guidance for state agencies in developing business programs and IT services and systems.
The Agency IT Master Plan purpose is to document the respective Agency's business plans and IT strategic plans and link these to Maryland's statewide IT goals and objectives and information technology investment decisions. These Agency IT Master Plans should ensure that the respective Agency's information technology plans and budgets are consistent with State goals, objectives, and resources and represents a long range vision for using Information Technology to improve the effectiveness of State Government. The individual Agency IT Master Plans will provide direction for the future and also solicit input, both from the business perspective and also from the Information Technology perspective from each state Agency.
The MSDE IT Master Plan is developed to meet the State of Maryland requirements described above, as well as to ensure that MSDE IT investments are aligned with MSDE strategic objectives. MSDE is currently revising the process used to develop the MSDE IT Master Plan. The MSDE IT Master Plan for fiscal year 2004 will be published here July 2002.
