MSDE Maryland Public School Standards for Telecommunications Distribution Systems: Infrastructure Design for Voice, Video, and Data Communications, issued January 1999 and revised in 2002.

This 107 page document establishes minimum standards for the design and implementation of premises and campus telecommunications distribution systems including pathways and spaces, work area requirements, entrance facilities, horizontal and backbone cabling, outlets, connecting hardware, LAN electronics, quality assurance, system documentation, and electrical power requirements. The document includes a glossary and references. These standards apply to all new public school construction and major renovation projects. Application of the standards to projects of smaller scope is addressed.
