DSE/EIS Assistant State Superintendent's Advisory Council

​The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Division of Special Education/Early Intervention Services (DSE/EIS) is committed to providing leadership, support and accountability for results to local school systems, public agencies, and stakeholders. To meet that commitment, Ms. Marcella E. Franczkowski, Assistant State Superintendent for the DSE/EIS convenes an advisory council comprised of eight to nine selected leaders from Maryland's local special education and early intervention systems.

The DSE/EIS Assistant State Superintendent's Advisory Council Identified leaders in special education and early intervention engage in robust discussions regarding State, local and national issues impacting results for children and families and Moving Maryland Forward to narrow the gap for children and students with disabilities, birth through 21, and their families.

The Council meets on at least four occasions during the term in Ms. Franczkowski's office at the MSDE and is the premier opportunity for innovative leaders of local special education and early intervention systems to engage in state-level deliberations and decision-making impacting children with disabilities, birth through 21, and their families in Maryland.
