DSE/EIS Assistant State Superintendent's Advisory Council

The Division of Early Intervention and Special Education Services (DEI/SES) is committed to providing leadership, support, and accountability for results to local school systems, public agencies, and stakeholders through a seamless, comprehensive system of coordinated services to children and students with disabilities, birth through 21, and their families. To meet this commitment, the DEI/SES Assistant State Superintendent convenes an advisory council comprised of eight to nine local leaders from special education and early intervention systems in Maryland. These select leaders engage MSDE leadership in robust deliberations around State and local policy, and state and national issues that impact services and results for children and families in Maryland. Through face-to-face and virtual forums, the Council provides consultation on performance support, compliance monitoring, and communication strategies to support local strategic implementation.

The Assistant State Superintendent's Advisory Council is the premier opportunity for transformative leaders from the local level to lend perspective to decision-making at the state level.

The Council does not hold public meetings. For more information, contact the DEI/SES.
