The primary purpose of the funding is to provide resources at the local level to strengthen community-based services to children, youth, and families with a focus on increasing childhood well-being and with intentional efforts to address childhood trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACESs), address racial and ethnic disparities, and promote research-informed practices. Early intervention activities result in an increase in positive maternal health outcomes, strengthening the parent-child bond, promoting childhood well-being and school readiness, and family economic self-sufficiency. State funding targets evidence-based and promising home visiting programs for improving parent and child outcomes.
