Maryland’s school improvement efforts include setting high standards for student achievement, measuring academic progress, publicly reporting each school’s performance annually, and taking action when schools are not making adequate progress.
Maryland measures academic progress each year by administering the Maryland Integrated Science Assessment, the Alternate Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (for students with disabilities), and the Maryland High School Assessments. If you would like to learn more about these assessments, use the Testing menu on the top or left-hand side of this page. Scores from state assessments are posted on www.mdreportcard.org. The
Student Testing Calendar 2017-2018 (revised 6.16.2017) is available as a Adobe PDF document. Instructional information on MISA and HSA, including sample test items, is available on mdk12.org: MISA Sample Items, HSA Sample Items.
