Educator Preparation and Program Approval

Educator Preparation Overview

The Educator Preparation and Program Approval Branch implements the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and monitors Title II federal reporting through program review and approval. This branch promotes integrated school and teacher education reform by building close and continuing partnerships with institutions of higher education, local educational agencies, and alternative educator preparation program providers. It also oversees continuing professional development course reviews and approvals.

The Educator Preparation and Program Approval Branch does not oversee licensing. If you have a question about obtaining or renewing a Maryland educator license, please visit their website for more information.
