Elementary School Teacher Award: Amy Cargiulo, Waverly Elementary (Howard County)

For encouraging students to see beyond the present and to look into their futures through the Stock Market Game, an MCEE program designed to develop the basic economic principles for long-term financial well being


Middle School Teacher Award: Nicolas Berluti, Kingsview Middle (Montgomery County)

For being a constant champion in the school’s 7th grade financial literacy curriculum to ensure students gain the knowledge and life skills necessary for future success


High School Teacher Award: Susan Bistransin, Prince George’s County Public High Schools (Prince George’s County)

For incorporating a Financial Literacy requirement course and now as Coordinator for the program which delivers valuable content to all Prince George’s County High Schools


Community Champion: Mary Ellen Mitchell, CEO/Founder of Housing Frederick (Frederick County)

For advocating for low-income earners by promoting a path to financial self-sufficiency and economic empowerment for those who need it most through her financial education flagship program that positively impacts the lives of thousands of individuals and families


Outstanding Organization: United Way of Frederick County (Frederick County)

For its Budget Coaching Program designed to help working families and individuals develop healthy financial habits and skill sets needed to achieve their financial wellness goals
