School Psychologist

Please be prepared to submit documentation verifying that you have met the requirements of one of the options below:


Option I:

  1. Master’s (or higher) degree in school psychology from a Maryland program approved to lead to licensure, including three semester hours of special education coursework; and

  2. Qualifying scores on the Maryland-approved test for school psychologists.


Option II:

  1. Master’s (or higher) degree; and

  2. Three semester hours of special education coursework; and

  3. Completion of an out-of-state program in school psychology leading to licensure in that state to include a minimum of a 1,200-hour internship in school psychology; and

  4. Qualifying scores on the Maryland-approved test for school psychologists.


Option III:

  1. Valid Nationally Certified School Psychologist certificate issued by the National School Psychology Certification Board;

  2. Three semester hours of special education coursework.


Option IV:

  1. Master’s (or higher) degree; and

  2. Valid professional license in school psychology from another state; and

  3. Three semester hours of special education coursework; and

  4. Verification of 27 months of satisfactory performance as a school psychologist during the past 7 years.
