The Division of Early Childhood is responsible for early care and education throughout the state of Maryland. The primary missions of the Division are to ensure safety and health in child care programs and to improve the early education experiences of young children so that they are prepared for and successful in school. The Division is comprised of the Office of Child Care, the Early Learning Branch, and the Collaboration and Program Improvement Branch.
