Overview
In 2017, the Maryland General Assembly enacted
Senate Bill 786 - Education - Restraint and Seclusion - Consideration and Reporting. The Legislation requires the State Superintendent of Schools to convene a task force to consider a number of assignments related to restraint and seclusion, review existing provisions of the
Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR), and make recommendations to the State Board of Education and the Maryland General Assembly by October 1, 2017.
