The Division of Career and College Readiness provides leadership, support, and technical assistance to local school systems and community colleges in the implementation of high-quality career and technical education (CTE) programs of study to prepare Maryland’s current and future workforce.
The Division also leads K-12 education in financial literacy, computer science, and STEM and is responsible for early college enrollment programs such as Pathways in Technology Early College High (P-TECH) School. In 2019, the Office of Leadership Development and School Improvement became a part of the Division of Career and College Readiness team, thus, expanding the work of the Division to include teacher and principal evaluations, curriculum vetting, and professional learning experiences to prepare leaders and raise the quality of education.
