The Maryland State Department of Education's user-friendly online calculator is designed for Pre-K providers in private and public school settings to determine families' tier level at the time of enrollment and the total cost of state, local, and family share.
This tool streamlines the process of determining the cost of care for families when a child enrolls in a Pre-K program. The calculator requires enrollment staff to input a family's household income and family size to estimate the cost of care based on Maryland's new Prekindergarten sliding scale methodology.
Families in Tier 3 do not qualify for the reduced cost of care.
Thank you for your interest in enrolling in a Pre-K program. Unfortunately, this child is currently not eligible for state funding as they are 3 years old and do not meet the criteria for multilingual learners or students with disabilities.
