What makes us unique:

KIPP Baltimore operates joyful, academically excellent public charter schools and alumni support programming that prepare students with the skills and confidence necessary to successfully pursue individual pathways to careers of highest aspiration. Our K-8 schools, located in the former Walbrook High School building in West Baltimore, offer rigorous academics with a focus on foundational literacy; whole-student development; and individualized preparation for secondary and postsecondary success. KIPP is an open-enrollment option for Baltimore City residents. Any student, regardless of learning or behavioral needs, can enroll at KIPP Baltimore for grades K-8. We pride ourselves in meeting every student where they are and providing individualized learning experiences.

In addition to a first class K-8 education, all KIPP alumni have access to our KIPP Forward (formerly KIPP Through College) program as they progress in their individual endeavors toward financial freedom and fulfilling lives. Beginning in middle school and continuing for at least six years after students complete high school, our year-round, full-time KIPP Forward team prioritizes key transitions in students’ academic trajectories, providing counseling and programming focused on increasing the likelihood that students can successfully graduate from high school and pursue proven paths to financial freedom and career satisfaction.

KIPP Baltimore is part of the national KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) public charter school network. Founded in 1994 as a college-preparatory program within a public middle school in Houston, today we are a network of more than 280 schools, 15,000 educators, and 175,000 students and alumni across the United States.
