Learn how students at Calvert County Public Schools are utilizing technology for community outreach!
8th-grade students at Northern Middle School created websites to help visitors to the Calvert County beaches. These Google sites utilized digital tools like Google Slides and Wixietocreate an informational tool to teach visitors about the sharks’ teeth they may find on the shores of Calvert County Beaches. Three sites were presented to supervisors at Calvert County Parks and Recreation. One site was selected to become part of the beach experience for visitors.
11th-grade health students at Northern High School created resources to educate teens on the various impacts of alcohol and marijuana use. Students were tasked with creating resources that would connect and educate their peers and be utilized within the school, health curriculum, and the community. An information fair was hosted to share their projects.
Students at Patuxent High School worked with members from Constellation Energy to create Emergency Preparedness resources for residents living near Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant.
