Pre-K-12 Mathematics Policy Draft
The Pre-K-12 Maryland Mathematics Policy is a strategic initiative designed to transform mathematics teaching, learning, and achievement from early childhood through secondary education. This policy supports the foundational goals of The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future by ensuring that all students, regardless of background, have equitable access to a coherent and high-quality mathematics education.
We invite all Maryland stakeholders to provide feedback. This feedback link will be open through Monday, February 24, 2025, at 12 p.m.
Vision
Every Maryland student will master mathematical procedural skills; develop conceptual understandings and the ability to apply those understandings in solving real-world problems at a level needed to fulfill personal goals and become a productive member of a global society.
Mission
Provide leadership, technical assistance, guidance and support to local school systems as they work to continually improve the teaching and learning of mathematics.
